I found the blessing
I found the blessing, that is another year.
When my laugh landed onto others,
When I found the crook of her neck during a midday nap, (I’d likely return to in the morning)
When my grip lessened—and my desires could greet me,
When I longed to bend my left knee,
When my parent’s grief strengthened and totally pained me
When I learned to say “I love you, but that hurts and I disagree. ” (about 3X)
I found the blessing that is the offering.
Even with the sad eye mole that rests below my left eye,
Even if my mother tells me that there will be much sadness due to it’s location,
My eye—the lazy one, still has a twinkle in it.
From all the love,
I get to have,
From seeing God
Again and again. And.
Amen.
